Abstract
The effects of swelling in various organic liquids on the mechanical properties of microheterogeneous segmented polyurethanes (SPU) with urethane-urea rigid blocks and different flexible segments, derived from oligotetramethylene oxide and oligopropylene oxide with an excess of 2,4-toluene diisocyanate, were investigated by tensile testing of the initial and swollen SPU. The results are discussed in terms of the breakdown of the network domain structure of the SPU on swelling and plasticisation by the liquid. 6 refs. Abstract
The mechanical properties under compression impact of injection moulded samples of polyamide-6,6 (PA-66) modified with different proportions of caprolactam, and of glass fibre-reinforced PA-66, were investigated by uniaxial compression testing at a range of temperatures. The results are discussed in terms of the dilaton approach to the analysis of strains causing failure of chemical bonds during high-speed deformation. 6 refs. Abstract
Optimisation of the composition of polymer composites based on epoxy resin with asbestos friction waste, a finely dispersed mineral powder, as filler, epoxy resin master as plasticizer, and polyethylenepolyamine as curing agent was investigated. An experimental design based on a second-order two-factor orthogonal composition was used to determine the dependence of compression, bending and shear strengths of the composite on filler and plasticizer contents, and the results are discussed. 4 refs.
